Flashy graphics will also slow down the loading speed of your website and some people may not be able to access it. Lay off the flash and go for a nice, clean look and feel.

Make sure your website looks professional. If you are promoting your company through a website, you don’t want some amateurish looking website to display. This could draw negative attention and a bad image of what you and your company are trying to represent.

Make sure you talk with your web designer and let them know exactly what you want, but be prepared to pay. Even a bad web design can run a few grand or higher. Use your due diligence and hire someone with experience and a proven track record of performance and professional looking websites. Ask them for examples before you buy.
